In advance of publication of the exciting news in this week’s editions of The Lakeville Journal and The Millerton News, we wanted to inform you personally that the Foundation and the papers have a new CEO and Publisher, and to thank you again for your continued support.
Since Janet Manko’s retirement announcement in October, the board of The Lakeville Journal Foundation has conducted a search to find a successor – large shoes to fill. We are pleased to say that at its meeting in January the Board approved the appointment of Susan Hassler.
Susan Hassler will become CEO of the foundation and publisher of The Lakeville Journal and The Millerton News. Susan and her family have lived in Sharon since her children started school. She has spent her professional life in the magazine business. For the past 20+ years Susan managed the editorial operations of IEEE Spectrum, the flagship magazine of IEEE, the world’s largest professional technology association. She has recruited and trained journalists, mainly in the field of science and technology, many of whom have gone on to become award-winning writers and editors.
Susan is excited to take on her new position and we expect she will start in February.
All of us at the papers and the Foundation are grateful for your contribution and we appreciate your ongoing support.
